L’IMMAGINAZIONE AL POTERE
Idee al comando, a partire da Adriano Olivetti
Imola, Sala Circolo Sersanti – Piazza Matteotti
Saturday 9 October 2010, 5.00 pm
Free entrance
Marcello Smarrelli, artistic director of Fondazione Ermanno Casoli, and Deborah Carè, brand marketing manager of Elica Spa in Fabriano, have been invited to participate in the convention entitled L’immaginazione al potere. Idee al comando, a partire da Adriano Olivetti (Power to the imagination. Ideas in command, starting from Adriano Olivetti), taking place in Imola, 9 October at the Sala Circolo Sersanti.
The initiative, free and open to the public, is promoted by the local association Città dell’Uomo founded in 2004 with the purpose of studying Adriano Olivetti’s industrial and social vision. The convention will focus on the analyses of Adriano Olivetti’s figure with particular attention to his intuitions including that of a continuous engagement of the enterprise-community towards culture-society.
The success of the Olivetti-model also derives from a steady and harmonious relation between a charismatic leadership, an outstanding team of managers, and the involvement of numerous talents from the fields of culture and socioeconomic sciences. A model that is always attentive to enterprise ethics directed towards territory and people.
In this respect Elica, world leader in domestic hood production, and Fondazione Ermanno Casoli are two emblematic cases.
Marcello Smarrelli will explain the role of the Foundation – which is dedicated to the memory of Ermanno Casoli founder of Elica – and its relationship with the company, illustrating the innovative and experimental projects that these two realities develop together thanks to the sharing of some fundamental objectives: to set forth a model of cooperative work, adopt ethical codes in order to establish participative and fair relations, increase the social development of the territory on which they operate.
Over the last three years and thanks to the direction of Marcello Smarrelli, the foundation has designed and realized several initiatives for the creation of concrete collaborations between the art world and that of industry. Elica, a company that has always been committed to culture, considers the interventions and the presence of the artists inside the work places as a valid training method for the staff, and as an opportunity for the development of the employees. Deborah Carè will illustrate this experience, that has led Elica to obtain important international awards, like the Great Place to Work Italy and Europe (2008, 2009, 2010), and the Premio Etica e Impresa in the Social Responsibility category (2009) .
Besides Marcello Smarrelli and Deborah Carè, the convention will also feature: Bruno Lamborghini, president and founder of the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti in Ivrea; Massimo Iosa Ghini, architect and designer; Paolo Bricco, journalist at Il Sole 24 Ore, and author of Olivetti, prima e dopo Adriano, industria, cultura, estetica, published by L’ancora.
