As part of the 2nd Level Master’s Degree Course in Curating Contemporary Art, the Fondazione Ermanno Casoli’s artistic director Marcello Smarrelli is giving a lecture in Module II, “Economics, Management and Planning”, in the Organizational Planning section, with the title: “Così l’arte si industria. L’attività della Fondazione Ermanno Casoli” (“So Art Gets to Work. The Activity of the Fondazione Ermanno Casoli”).
The structure of the Master’s Degree Course takes into consideration the connection with the more recent history of the visual arts, with the socioeconomic and cultural context and with the latest historical, critical and theoretical ideas. During his lecture, Smarrelli will speak of his curatorial experience with the FEC, committed to fostering the relations between art and business by promoting initiatives in which contemporary art becomes an educational and methodological tool for the creation of working environments that favour innovation. In this context, therefore, Marcello Smarrelli will explain what are the characteristics that distinguish the activity of the curator when artists go into companies and the people who work in them are involved in artistic projects.
The lecture will be held on Monday 24 September from 9:30 am until 11:30 am at the MLAC (Museo Laboratorio d’Arte Contemporanea), La Sapienza University in Rome
The Master’s Course avails itself of collaborations with museums at home and abroad, foreign bodies and institutions in Italy, foundations, public and private libraries and public institutions and spaces.
