For the fourth year in a row, this workshop is curated by Marcello Smarrelli and is directed to the Sole 24 Ore’s Business School Master in Culture and Arts Economics and Management students. This year protagonist will be artist Pietro Ruffo.
The enterprise trainer Piero Tucci will attend the activity day, which will develop starting from the changes implemented by Italian Culture Minister, Dario Franceschini. As a result of these changes, directors and supervisors for the new Ministry mandate have been appointed. The workshop participants –the Master’s students – will receive an Italian Province capital city map each; students shall then identify a museum in that territory – a contemporary art one, preferably – and imagine they are their directors. Participants will have to choose the five guidelines for the museums they are directing; once they identify their “mandate” principles, students will draw on the city map the museum logo or outline, so as the city map overlaps the territory map, ideally embracing it. This image will then be finished through a highly symbolic coloring process: each color will match one of the five guidelines for managing the museum. In this way, the museum “values” will be visually defined. It will be possible to visualize and establish relations among museums, and offer a hypothetical mapping of how museums should be managed in the future.
